The development of a project you have interest on, even in ways you're not interested in, always has its advantages. I enjoy FACEIT and ESEA services on systems that are already supported. There are platforms for professional competitions in multiplayer games (such as Faceit and ESEA), and undoubtedly they also use anti-cheat, but they have nothing to do with them except for the users of these platforms themselves, and accordingly, only we can do something.įull support for GNU / Linux anti-cheat platforms Faceit and ESEA. These are great news, but unfortunately, there are those who have been forgotten and no one wants to acknowledge them. On the eve of the release of SteamDeck (which uses the Linux kernel as a support of its operating system SteamOS 3.0, which the device runs on), thanks to Valve's efforts, BattlEye announced their anti-cheat will support Proton, and a couple of months ago, Easy Anti-Cheat also made a similar statement, by announcing their support of Linux and Proton. I can't be sure that this problem is due to Denuvo, but it seems like it and I don't want to write Ubisoft support about that. And I might do that "install" on Window's Uplay or in windows prefix's Uplay created by Lutris I am not sure what the game counted as activation.

There was no warning about Denuvo or activation, and all "tips" how to get these AC games running were useless for me on Windows. However, if I close Uplay and relaunch it, it's in the same 'stuck at warning screen' state. Then I tried fresh wineprefix with Uplay (using Lutris Ubisoft Connect and wine-6.3.8-proton) and all games worked no problem. On Arch Linux with Uplay, the old wineprefix with Uplay launched the game with the photosensitivity warning but got stuck while background music played after a minute. Did fresh Windows install, installed Uplay, and all Assasins Creed as well as the Immortals Fenyx Rising got only "white window in black screen" and not even the initial warning about photosensitivity showed up. I used exact same parts except the smaller motherboard of course.

I was in the middle of Origins, only testing Oddysey out here and there and just downloaded Valhalla when I rebuilt my PC from ATX to ITX motherboard for SFF build.

I was playing the 3 last Assasins Creed (Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla) and Origins was crazy CPU heavy, not due to Denuvo but due to the driver overhead, so it was better to play on Windows cause that 20% perf in big cities made difference between playable ~40 fps and 18fps slideshow. NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetAdaptiveClockInfoStatus) to get the status of the adaptive clock state(disabled/enabled). NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetPcieLinkMaxSpeed) to get the PCIe bus max link speed in MBPS(various values). NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetMemoryBusWidth) to get the bus width of a GPU's memory. NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetPowerSource) to get a GPU's power source(AC/Battery). Previously this was only available via NVCtrl(nvidia-settings's lib) or (probably) via NVAPI. NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetNumGpuCores) to get the CUDA core count of an Nvidia GPU. NOTE: this probably won't return any fans that are managed by a custom fan controller on the GPU board. Previously this did not exist and there was no way of knowing how many fans a GPU has so that you could ask for their fan speeds which there was a function already for. NVML now has a function(nvmlDeviceGetNumFans) to get the number of fans of a discrete Nvidia GPU.
Previously the Nvidia driver only exposed the free, used, and total memory values. The nvmlMemory_t now has a v2 struct(nvmlMemory_v2_t) which now includes the amount of hardware reserved memory used for bookkeeping by the driver. Speaking of NVML, it has received a bunch of new functions and changes. It looks like they are trying to move more functionality into NVML in general. They have also increased nvidia-settings's reliance on the NVML library, which does not depend on X11 and does work on Wayland. They've made various string changes to the code such as: Nvidia seems to be in the process of decoupling nvidia-settings from X11. Everything highlighted here is from: nvidia-settings decoupling with X11 Some other extra info on the NVIDIA 510.39.01 release, in case anyone is interested.
